Founder - Deb Laraman MA& D - Sustainable Design 

•Multi award winning designer, stylist, educator and author. Deb has a Masters in Design (up-cycling) and has been a strong advocate for sustainability, making and conscious consumption for over 20  years.

• Her work has been presented internationally and nationally and featured in a variety of media, publications, seminars, symposiums and several exhibitions. 

•With a background in education Deb has been at the forefront of sustainable design education, leading fashion, design and environmental management programs in the New Zealand tertiary sector.

•Deb has worked with Industry, Communities and Secondary schools providing opportunities for learning and promoting a sustainability message.

•She has established many events including eco design competitions, fashion shows, judged sustainable design awards, worked with charities, schools and business to provide opportunities for young people.

Deb began her career in fashion began in Australia, working in design, illustration, textile design and buying and over the years she has designed for  retail stores, and created corporate apparel for international airlines, banks, hotels chains, resorts and theatre. Occasionally her collections are stocked in Independant NZ retailers, with previous ranges stocked in  Smith and Caughey, Repertoire, Mia style etc.

Our Purpose

 

  • Creating stylish and unique fashion , homewares and accessories for eco conscious consumers

  • Transforming textile waste into higher value products and diverting textiles from the waste stream, reducing landfill and environment costs.

  • Changing perceptions and raising awareness of fashion consumption style and making.

  • Providing styling and eco fashion workshops to promote second-hand style and making.

  • Creating unique fabrics for home dressmaker

  • Eco Fashion workshops and pop up events 

  • Educational workshops, consultancy sustainability,  waste, fashion and DIY culture.
